CMP12 Application Process

Contemplative Musicianship Program (CMP)

  • Open to applicants from all over the world (North & South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa): singers, instrumentalists, composers, chaplains, clinicians and people of prayer with basic music competencies, a love of music, and a longing for a deep formation in the spirituality of music.
  • This program is the pre-requisite for application to the Music-Thanatology Program.
  • This is a Distance Learning Program and combines web lectures and broadcasts with brief intensive residencies in Oregon. The entire course is taught in English.
  • If you would like to receive a course description and an application packet for the upcoming Contemplative Musicianship Program (CMP) Cycle XII starting in January 2010, please follow these steps:email Therese Schroeder-Sheker at applications-cmp12@chaliceofrepose.org, and include:
    1. your name,
    2. snail-mail address,
    3. telephone number, and
    4. several sentences about your musical, educational, and personal/professional background.

  • Those who have sent new inquiries will receive a detailed course description, fee schedule and application packet promptly as an email attachment. The CMP distance-learning program cycles are limited to 10 students per cycle.
  • If, after reading the information and application packet you decide to apply, please send your application in to us via email, and then click here to pay the CMP12 application fee. (Please send those applications via email to applications-cmp12@chaliceofrepose.org).
